 General:

  • Juniors! There is a junior class homecoming meeting today in Ms. O’s room, 64. If you want to help plan any of the homecoming festivities for your grade, come to our meeting at lunch in room 64.
  • Are you struggling in your classes? Do you need help with your homework? Come to Peer Tutoring in the library from 7:30 – 8 am. And 1:45 to 3:15 pm.  Peer Tutoring is available Monday through Friday in the library before school and during 4th period.
  • Attention all Cardinals, are you curious about all of the clubs on campus? You’re in luck, tomorrow is the First Club Day of the year! Come to the quad this Friday during lunch to join a new club and buy some delicious food that our clubs will be selling.  Bring cash! See you then!
  • Club officers: if you are planning on selling goodies for club day, please sign up on the sheet outside the finance office.  Let ASB know if you will need a table.
  • Lockers are now available.  See Janet or Leslie in the counseling office at lunch only for a locker.
  • Make up picture day is Tuesday, September 26! If you did not take your picture this year, please be prepared to do so next week!

Clubs:

  • A new club is forming on campus. Join us in room 45 tomorrow at lunch to join the first Yo-Yo club.  The Yo-Yo Club is dedicated to furthering our skills in the string-arts. Beginners, amateurs and pro yo-yo artists are all welcome. Share your best tricks, learn from advanced players and discover new tricks like walk the dog, the cat’s cradle, the brain scramble and more!
  • The following clubs meet today at lunch:

                Newspaper in the library. Everyone is welcome!

                Graphic Design in room 45.

                BSU in room 63.

  • Hey sophomores! If you are interested in helping on the homecoming float, then c’mon down to room 64 on today at lunch. Ask Talia Loftus or Gracie Babatola for more information.
  • Juniors! There is a junior class homecoming meeting Thursday, September 21st, in Ms. O’s room, 64. If you want to help plan any of the homecoming festivities for your grade, come to our meeting at lunch in room 64.

  • Need a community service opportunity?  Westlake Elementary is looking for Westlake Alums or anyone interested to head on back to Westlake Elementary for the Back to School BBQ on Thursday, September 28th to help run the kids’ games just like others did for you years ago. Make it even more fun by volunteering with a friend.  Two different shifts available at: see Kathy in the main office for sign up details.
  • All juniors will take the PSAT during 1st and 2nd periods on Wednesday. October 11th.  Tomorrow is a minimum day Wednesday. There will be a mandatory pre-administration meeting after 3rd period and again after 4th period.  Come to the Auditorium right after your last class to fill out your answer document.  Bring a #2 pencil and something to write on, like a binder or a book. This will only take about 20 minutes.

  • Don’t forget to get you Santa Cruz High Parking Pass.  You need a new pass every school year.  Last year’s parking pass is no longer valid. Tickets are now being issued in the school and residential parking zones. 
  • Attention all freshmen! The first class meeting of the year will be held on Monday, September 18th, at  lunch in room 64. Come find out about homecoming and other activities to get involved with and also meet Van, your freshmen class president.

  • All girls interested in playing soccer this year, there is a brief meeting today at lunch in the auditorium.
  • Today the football team takes on Fremont at Santa Cruz High.  Make sure you sit in the student section, The Cardinal Cage.  Hope to see everyone there at 7:30.
