General:       

  • Prom tickets will be sold only Wednesdays and Fridays in the ASB room for the month of February. Don’t forget to buy your prom tickets!! Price $170.
  • ASB would like to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day. When you find your valentine somewhere in the main building, take it!
  • Freshmen interested in taking the PSAT 8/9 there are 11 slots left. PSAT 8/9 is April 12th.  Cost $20. PSAT 10 for sophomores is sold out.
  • AMC Math Contest in room 11 today at 3:30 – 5 pm. Come join the fun with math club.

Clubs: The following clubs meet today during lunch.

  • Women’s Honor Society in room 81.
  • BSU in room 63.
  • Art in room 40.
  • Coding in room 14.
  • Rainbow Alliance in room 67.
  • Origami in room 11.

  • Club congress will have a meeting coming up. Please plan to attend either on Thursday 2/21 or Friday, 3/1 in room 64 at lunch.
  • Deadline to apply for PTA funding is at the end of February. See Ms. RK with questions.

Seniors:

  • Omega Nu and Santa Cruz Rotary Club Scholarship applications are available! See Lauren in the Main Office for your applications!
  • There will be a Cabrillo Placement and Planning Session for SCHS seniors on February 19th. Also, Carolyn Jackson from the Cabrillo Honors Program will be in counseling on February 19th from 10:50 to 11:20 am. For further information or to sign up go to the counseling office.

  • Thank you to the many who came to donate blood yesterday! We surpassed our goal! You all impressed the American Red Cross staff with your urgency and willingness to contribute.
  • Today is the last day for Valentine grams! Stop by ASB at lunch to purchase your to send to that special someone. Cost $1.

  • Make sure you wish the Mock Trial Team luck as they compete in their county competition through February. Come watch them compete today at the Santa Cruz Courthouse. The first trial starts at 5 pm.
  • Students—did you know that next Friday is marks for the progress report!? Better hustle and get those grades up…

  • Love is in the air, show your appreciation for your friend or “special friend” with a valentines’ day gram. Buy your Valentine’s Day gram in ASB. Cost $1.

  • Latino Role Models Conference is March 9th at Cabrillo College from 9 am – 1:30 pm.  If interested, see flyer in counseling office for more information.
  • The Santa Cruz Teen Center is looking for teens to participate in a summer internship program to work I the city. Applications in counseling. 
  • Are you looking to gain some good karma in your life? TheShe.Is.Beautiful race occurring on Saturday, March 23rd need your help! Volunteers will get custom hats, morning treats, and a day of fun for helping out.  See Ms. RK in room 64 if you have questions.
  • Blood Drive is today!  You will receive a pass a few minutes before your appointment.

  • Students, the deadline to guarantee your yearbook purchase is tomorrow.  This is also the last chance to personalize your yearbook cover and it’s the final deadline for parents to purchase Ad space in the back of the yearbook. Make sure you secure your copy of the 2019 SCHS yearbook through the Jostens website.”
  • Blood Drive 2/12. Sign up in ASB at lunch! Only a few spots remain.

  • Freshmen and Sophomores interested in taking the PSAT 8/9 or the PSAT 10
  • The PSAT 8/9 and the PSAT 10 provide an early, additional opportunity for students to practice for the PSAT/NMSQT and the SAT.  We have ordered a limited number of PSAT 8/9 (for freshmen) and PSAT 10 (for sophomores) for those who so choose.  The charge for each test is $20, with no fee waivers possible.   Students may sign up in the Finance Office during lunch time only, only 16 spots are left for 9th grade and 5 spots left for 10th grade students.
  • The PSAT 10 is scheduled for April 11, 2019 and the PSAT 8/9 is scheduled for April 12, 2019.  Students will miss the entire mornings’ classes.  It is the responsibility of the students to pre-arrange with their teachers to make up any missed work.
