General:       

  • Do you remember orientation when you were a Freshman?  The campus was huge, the students were grown and your classes schedule was challenging.  Did you wish someone was there to guide you? We need your help in being a mentor to our incoming Freshman Class of 2023.  This is your chance to pay it forward and become a Link Crew member and participate in Freshman Orientation.  If you are interested please sign up with either Rishi or Lauren in the front office.
  • Happy National Poetry Month. Today is Poem in Your Pocket day. And while you’re at it, let Veronica know if you’d like to participate in a poetry reading on May 1st.

ASB:

  • Missed the deadline for ASB general membership application?  No problem, just turn application into room 64 ASAP.
  • Do you love Ristorante Italiano? Don’t miss your opportunity to get a great meal for only $5.Saturday, April 27th from 7 – 10 pm com hang out with us at the Spring Fling dance in the SCHS Quad. Tickets are on sale in ASB for $10. First 20 people will receive a discounted ticket for $5.

Clubs: The following clubs meet today during lunch.

  • Join Rainbow Alliance today at lunch in room 67. We will be collaborating on new ideas for Rainbow Merchandise.
  • Women’s Honor Society in room 81.
  • BSU in room 63.
  • Art in room 40
  • Coding in room 14
  • Origami in room 11.                                      

Seniors:

  • For seniors attending Cabrillo in the fall, there are two Registration Readiness Workshops on May 2nd at 12:05 pm and 1:45 pm. Sign up in counseling. Attending one of these sessions is mandatory. If you can’t attend you need to set up an appointment at Cabrillo.
  • If you know where you are going to college, please join other Class of 2019 students at the College Signing Day celebration! Santa Cruz High seniors will walk down to the Civic Auditorium where you can meet fellow local students that are going to the same school next year. There will be food and fun events and a live stream with Michelle Obama. Check your student email for the registration link. The deadline to sign up is next Monday, April 22nd.

Sports:                                                                                                                                               

  • Please release boys’ golf at 2:15, tennis at 2:30 and varsity softball at 2:50 today.

  • Congratulations to Adam Wormhoudt who won an award from The Teen Fashion Show. So hats off to the awesome upcoming young designer.
  • Students interested in volunteer and summer internships in vet science should attend the meeting at Santa Cruz Animal Shelter, 1001 Rodriguez St. today at 6:30 pm.

  • Spring Fling will be on April 27th, tickets are on sale in ASB for $10. First 20 people will receive a discounted ticket for $5.

  • If you are attending Cabrillo College and you are interested in the Puente Program, you must attend the mandatory orientation today at 4 pm on the Aptos Campus room 202. For more information see your counselor.

ASB is open at lunch all week to sell tickets for you last change for a ticket at $175.  If you are on the payment plan, your third payment is due by Friday. Don’t miss the boat, we only have about 120 spots left! Go take a look! Remember, Prom is May 18th make sure you buy your ticket.
