General:   

  • If you are currently in an AP course and plan on taking the test in May, the order process has CHANGED! If you are currently in an AP course you must purchase your AP test NOW. Each test is $94. Orders are due November 7th!See Lauren in the main office for more information.
  • The Boardwalk is hiring food service workers who are 16 years and older. You can apply online at www.beachboardwalk.com/jobs or drop by the human resources office across from the Carousel for an instant interview.
  • Brief tech meeting for the fall play on Tuesday, October 15th, at lunch in room 88. If you haven’t yet picked up your tech application yet, go to room 88 to pick up and turn in before next Tuesday. 

ASB:

  • Homecoming is next week. Monday-“Snuggle Szn”, wear pjs, Tuesday-:Tik Tok/VSCO Szn, wear oversized t-shirts, scrunchies, messy buns, carry a hydro flask, Wednesday-“Pink Szn”, wear pink in support of breast cancer, Thursday-“Class Szn” Cardinal Season! Seniors- Winter, Juniors-Summer, Sophomores- Autumn, Freshman- Spring. Friday-“Cardinal Szn”, wear your Cardinal Red, Black and White spirit gear. Homecoming nomination in the quad today at lunch. 

    Clubs:

  • Today is National Coming Out Day! Rainbow Alliance is hosting a panel of Triangle speakers from the Diversity Center in the quad in the quad at lunch. Just bring a friend and come listen.
  • Literary Society in the library.

  • Today-University of Denver
  • Monday, October 14th, University of Puget Sound
  • Tuesday, October 15th, Northern Arizona University
  • Wednesday, October 16th, Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising

Seniors:

  • If you are in Cyber High Credit Recovery, please make sure you check in with the teacher on a weekly basis.

  • Homecoming school wide theme: Cardinal Season! Seniors- Winter, Juniors-Summer, Sophomores- Autumn, Freshman- Spring Homecoming is the week of October 14-18! 

    Clubs:

  • October is LGBTQ Month! This Thursday, Rainbow will host guest speaker, Ashlyn, from the Diversity Center in room 67.Also, Friday is National Coming Out Day and there will be a panel from the Diversity Center in the quad at lunch.
  • French in room 72
  • Cooking in room 18.

    • SCHS wrestling is the defending league champions with 11 CCS qualifiers.  If you do a combative like Ju Jitsu, Judo or freestyle come to our first informational meeting.  We will be looking at numbers for ordering gear and passing out drive for schools tickets to pay for your own gear, We will meet at Monday Oct 7th at 3:30 in the wrestling room.

General:   

  • Open Call to all Santa Cruz High Students! Auditions for the talent show are October 4th after school. Please sign up on the choir room door AKA Room 56. It's your chance to show it off your talents! Musicians, dancers, magicians, actors, and comedians are all welcome! Not ready to perform? Check out the show at 6:30pm on October 17th. Questions? Ask Miss Eldred before school or at our first break. 
  • All students marching Standards for the parade on Saturday need to come to the band room after school today and Thursday for practice from 3:30-4:30. We will also set up uniforms at that time.
  • Teen Peer Court is back! The first and only Teen Attorney training session is Thursday, October 3rd from 4-6 pm at the Santa Cruz County Office of Education. If interested, see flyers outside the main office in the display case.
  • Thursday, October 3rd is Bike to School Day! Bike or walk to school and receive free breakfast in the Quad.
  • Attention Juniors! On Wednesday, October 2, that's TOMORROW, come to room 67 during your open period, on break, or after school, in order to complete your pre-administration for the PSAT/NMSQT. Every Junior must complete their pre-administration. The PSAT/NMSQT is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16 in varying classrooms at 8:00am. All juniors are taking this test. During your second period today, you will be receiving a yellow paper that has your room assignment for the date of the test. Do not lose this paper. It is specific to each Junior.

  • Students, if you are interested in design, 3D printing, making stickers, eating cookies and hanging out with cool people than come to room 45 for the Design Club Meeting kick off. This year includes an exciting opportunity to provide the foundation for the next evolution of this dynamic club. Come to room 45 during lunch this Thursday to be a part of history... and keep innovation alive at Santa Cruz High
