General:       

  • ASB is open EVERYDAY this week to purchase your prom tickets. Last chance to get them for $170. 2nd payment plan is due tomorrow.  
  • Submission deadline for promposals is today. Submit your promposal to #santacruzpromposals for a change to win two free prom tickets.
  • Have an old prom dress or a nice tuxedo you don’t use anymore? Donate to ASB so we can give people a chance to look as good as you did! Donate your dress wear to room 64. Collection date starts Monday, March 4th.
  • Freshmen interested in taking the PSAT 8/9 there are 6 slots left. PSAT 8/9 is April 12th.  Cost $20.
  • AP tests are now on sale in the Finance Office during Lunch. Each test is $94. Friday, March 22, 2019 is the last day to purchase tests. 
  • Juniors and Seniors please check your school email to nominate prom royalty. Deadline to submit is March 8th.  Prom royalty nominations close next week!
  • All students, check your email to vote on socks!
  • Latino Role Models Conference Saturday, March 9th, at Cabrillo College. If interested in attending, see flyer in the counseling office for more information.
  • Queer, Trans & Allied Student Summit Saturday, March 2nd, 9:30 am to 2 pm at Lakeview Middle School in Watsonville. See Rishi for details.
  • Marini’s at the Beach is hiring.  Applications in the counseling office. They will also be doing on the spot hiring in front of counseling, Wednesday, March 6th at break.
  • Starting Monday, March 4th, they gym parking lot will be STAFF ONLY! Any students in the lot will be ticketed.

Clubs: The following clubs meet today during lunch.

  • Women’s Honor Society in room 81.
  • BSU in room 63.
  • Art in room 40.
  • Coding in room 14.
  • Origami in room 11.
  • Club Presidents and representatives. If you would like your club to have a table at next club day, come  to club congress tomorrow at lunch in room 64. See you there.

Seniors:

  • Santa Cruz High Alumni and Sunrise Rotary Club Scholarship applications are available! See Lauren in the Main Office for your applications!
  • There are three spots left for the Cabrillo Placement and Planning session on March 20th. Come to counseling to sign up.

Sports:

  • Please release jv baseball at 2 pm and varsity girls’ softball at 2:50 today.

  • Hey underclassmen! Spring Fling will be held on April 27th in the quad. More details to come!
  • Students. The gym parking lot is reserved for staff only. You will get one waring before you receive a parking ticket.

    Sports:

  • Congratulations to Greta Gustafson and Maya Letona who wrestled at the state championship in Bakersfield over the weekend. Maya Letona medaled and took 7th place. She is the first girl from Santa Cruz High to medal at the state tournament.

  • It’s prom season and submission deadline for promposals is coming up! Submit your promposal by February 28th to #santacruzpromposals for a change to win 2 FREE prom tickets! Good luck!
  • Prom tickets are on sale at lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays in the ASB room. $170.
  • Freshmen interested in taking the PSAT 8/9 there are 7 slots left. PSAT 8/9 is April 12th.  Cost $20. PSAT 10 for sophomores is sold out. AP tests are now on sale in the Finance Office during Lunch. Each test is $94. Friday, March 22, 2019 is the last day to purchase tests. 
  • Calling all writers: Word Lab is open for enrollment! Word Lab is a free after-school writing program at the Museum of Art & History, focused on creative writing of all kinds. Students in Word Lab are published in a professionally-designed anthology and receive an invitation to read their work at Bookshop Santa Cruz. Word Lab meets on Wednesdays from 3:30pm - 5:30pm at the Museum of Art & History. Session 3 starts on March 25 and runs until May 30.
  • If you are interested in signing up for Word Lab, please talk to Veronica Zaleha in the library.
  • Need a job?  The Boardwalk is hosting a job fair on February 23rd and 24th, 10 am – 3 pm at the HR offices across from the carousel.  Hiring for all positions and you will receive 5 free rides just for applying.
  • Women's Honor society would like to thank everyone for their generous donations.  We delivered over 20 care packages to the Homeless Persons Center and the recipients were overcome with the kindness of our school community

  • All students, please check you school email to vote on which kinds of socks you would like to see sold at school!

  • Club congress will have a meeting coming up. Please plan to attend either today or Friday, 3/1 in room 64 at lunch.
