General:       

  • If you missed the pre-bubble session on Friday for AP tests, see Lauren in the main office ASAP.
  • Bike to school is just around the corner! On Thursday May 9th, ride your bike to school and get a free breakfast. Santa Cruz High will have breakfast before 1st period in the quad, and there will be other locations all around town where you can get breakfast and other goodies including the chance to win a free e-bike. Besides delicious breakfast, biking reduces your carbon footprint, uses less fossil fuels, is better for the planet, and is good exercise. Don't forget to ride on Thursday May 9th.
  • Would you enjoy an afternoon of reading and/or listening to poetry and excerpts of peers' writing?  If so, please let Veronica know that you'll be joining Creative Society's Literary Reading, scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, at 1:00 in the library, by the end of the day today (so we'll know how many snacks to bring!)  Thank you!

  • Prom tickets are sold out, you can still submit your paperwork to get on the wait list.
  • Hey Cardinals! Come by outside the ASB Room and drop off song suggestions for prom into the box.

Clubs: The following clubs meet today during lunch.

  • LSU in room 67.
  • Robotic in room 12.
  • Cooking in room 18.

Seniors:

  • For seniors attending Cabrillo in the fall, there are two Registration Readiness Workshops on May 2nd at 12:05 pm and 1:45 pm. Sign up in counseling. Attending one of these sessions is mandatory. If you can’t attend you need to set up an appointment at Cabrillo.
  • If you are taking a class needed to meet graduation requirements through CYBER HIGH, please make sure you check in with the teacher every week. Deadline for completing all work is due May 1st!
  • If you ar ea senior going to College Signing Day tomorrow, make sure to get your permission slip filled out. You need teacher signatures from 2nd, 3rd and 4th periods! Since you’re in 2nd period now, ask your teacher!
  • Get your Grad Night ticket before prices increase May 1st.Check your school email account for additional information and link to purchase your ticket.

Sports:

  • Please release varsity softball at 2:30 pm, jv baseball at 2:50 today.

General:       

  • Hey AP environmental science students, the AP test is coming up soon. To prepare for the test, you have a few study sessions coming up. Lunch time study sessions on Tuesday April 30th, Thursday May 2, and Friday May 3. All of these study sessions will be in Ms. Falls' room, room 22. Ms. Falls has a released test for you to work through. We can also look at the released FRQs from past year tests, and if you have an AP test prep book, you can bring that too.

  • We are excited to announce the new ASB Officers for the 2019-20 school year. Alyssa Fairchild, President, Talia Loftus, Vice-President. Arlette Monroy, Secretary, Van Clow, Treasurer. As well as Violet Edwards and Maya Letona as co-senior class presidents, Maria Vasquez-Vargas as Sophomore Class President.
  • AP English Lit review today, Thursday and Friday at lunch in room 88.  You can come any day

  • Do you remember orientation when you were a Freshman?  The campus was huge, the students were grown and your classes schedule was challenging.  Did you wish someone was there to guide you? We need your help in being a mentor to our incoming Freshman Class of 2023.  This is your chance to pay it forward and become a Link Crew member and participate in Freshman Orientation.  If you are interested please sign up with either Rishi or Lauren in the front office.
  • Hey AP environmental science students, the AP test is coming up soon. To prepare for the test, you have a few study sessions coming up. The first study session is on Sunday April 28th from 12:30-2:30 pm. there are also lunch time study sessions on Tuesday April 30th, Thursday May 2, and Friday May 3. All of these study sessions will be in Ms. Falls' room, room 22. Ms. Falls has a released test for you to work through. We can also look at the released FRQs from past year tests, and if you have an AP test prep book, you can bring that too.
  • Students who have signed up to take one or more AP tests, you must complete the pre-registration. AP pre-registration is scheduled for Friday, April, 26th. Please find time in you day to attend. If you are able to take ½ hour out of class to attend during any period of the day, with teacher approval, we can register in smaller groups. Pre-registration is in Room 67 between 7:30 and 3:15. Don’t forget a number 2 pencil.

  • Ducky Derby is looking for volunteers for Saturday, April 27th. There are two shifts available, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm or 12 pm to 4 pm.To volunteer or find our more information contact Sarah Wolfsen at sarbarnes@yahoo.com.

  • If you know where you are going to college, please join other Class of 2019 students at the College Signing Day celebration! Santa Cruz High seniors will walk down to the Civic Auditorium where you can meet fellow local students that are going to the same school next year. There will be food and fun events and a live stream with Michelle Obama. Check your student email for the registration link. The deadline to sign up is today.
