General:   

  • Reminder from the Textbook Room: Get your semester 1 books in as soon as it is appropriate! Your teachers will let you know when you can start turning them in. If the textbook room is not open, please use the book drop slot next to the door. Semester 2 textbooks will be available for checkout in the hallway outside of the textbook room starting at 12:20 on Tuesday (January 14) and Wednesday (January 15). The textbook room will also be open the morning of Thursday (January 16) for students to drop by and check out books as well.
  • Seniors, make a plan to return or replace any missing books before the end of the year, as missing books can affect your yearbook and diploma.
  • Your library loves that you check out books. But we also needs them back for other readers! Please return the overdue books that some of you have had all semester…or even longer. Keep I Cardinal by return your library books.
  • BSU is attending the Black College Expo in Oakland on February 8th. Any student interested in attending HBCU or receiving a full ride or money for college, please see Black Student Union member.
  • Congratulation to the Santa Cruz High Ethics Bowl team who participated in their first tournament on Saturday winning two of their three rounds. 

ASB:

  • Listen up Cardinals! Winter Formal is around the corner on February 8th at the Elks’ Lodge from 6 – 10 pm. Tickets are on sale in the quad at lunch every day for $20. This includes food, a photo booth and a DJ! Hope to see you there.

  • Football awards ceremony will be held Sunday, January 12th, at 4pm.Come early to order championship rings.
  • Anyone who still has football equipment needs to turn it in immediately. Anything not turned in by this Friday will be charged to your student bill.
  • Baseball Open Field has started from 2:30 – 4 pm. Anyone thinking about playing should stop by and start getting your arm in shape.
  • Please release girls jv basketball at 2:45, jv cheer and jv boys basketball at 3 pm

  • Hey students enrolled in AP Chemistry next semester, there is a mandatory meeting for all AP chemistry students today, at lunch, in room 22. If you are enrolled in AP Chemistry, you must attend this mandatory meeting.
  • The Boardwalk is now hiring 14 year old students. You can apply online at www.beachboardwalk.com/job or do an instant interview at their Human Resources office across from the Carousel Monday – Saturday.
  • If you are interested in traveling to Costa Rica this summer 2020 for   The Birds, Butterflies and Big Cats along with Sra. Laz please come to our next informational meeting tomorrow, in room 74 at 6:30. 
  • Reminder to PAC members. Meeting today at 11:20 in room 67.

  • Hey Cardinals! This week is spirit week. Tomorrow is caught in a snowstorm. Thursday be sure to dress as your favorite holiday movie, Friday is show your Cardinal Pride!

  • Want to recognize someone special? Winter Grams will be sold in the quad for only $1.

  • Come out and support the Varsity Football team this Saturday at 6 pm when they play Salesian College Prep at home in the NorCal playoffs.
  • Dads’ Club Basketball tournament continues tonight at the Civic Auditorium. Santa Cruz High plays at 8 pm against Monte Vista Christian. Student admission is $5 per day. Santa Cruz High’s first game is Thursday, December 7th, at 8 pm.
  • All student’s interested in playing softball this spring need to attend the meeting today at lunch in room 56.
