General:

  • Hey Cardinals! Did you miss holiday sock day today? No worries, tomorrow is – ugly sweater day, Thursday – flannel day, Friday – Cardinal Pride day.
  • Letter writing to first responders today in the quad. Enjoy the tunes from the Jazz Band.
  • The library is all wrapped up in the holidays! Check out books on how to create some holiday cheer, submit your favorite winter cozy read for our display, or take a free book home as the library’s gift to you!  And, don’t forget the Holiday Book Drive at Bookshop Santa Cruz this season! 
  • Any Students interested in Teen Peer Court. First court date is December 14th at 4 pm.  See flyer outside main office for more information.
  • Anyone interested in Engineering as a major in College? Counselling has invited two former students, who are excelling in the engineering program at Cabrillo, to do a casual presentation about their amazing  experiences.  Anyone interested please stop by the counseling office for more information and to sign up.

Clubs: The following clubs meet today during lunch.

  • Women’s Honor Society is collecting donations to provide supplies for both foster and homeless youth. Please bring travel toiletries and gently used clothing to room 81. Ask a WHS member or Miss Pendell for more information.
  • Women’s Equality in room 74. Women’s Equality club is collecting donations for the women and children’s shelter.  Drop off your donations in room 74.
  • Global Student Embassy in room 22.
  • Cooking in room 18.
  • Cardinal Car in room 42.

Seniors:

  • Want to have a senior quote included in the yearbook.  Check you student email account for the link to submit your quote.

Sports:

  • All students interested in swimming this upcoming season, there is a preseason meeting today at 3:30 in the girls’ team room.
  • Please release freshmen boys’ basketball at 2:30 today.

  • Congratulations to Emma Thorpe, Sonia Anderson, Alex Bradford and Maya Letona who wrestled tough competition at the Roger Briones wrestling tournament in San Leandro on Saturday. Maya Letona placed 3rd.

  • Don't forget to pick an ornament off the Adopt a Family tree, out in front of counseling, you will add a bit of Cardinal cheer to one of your fellow students holiday. Have fun shopping, then return the gift to the counseling office by today.

Sports:

  • Come out and support the boys’ varsity basketball team as they take on seven of the area’s elite varsity teams at the Emmett Thompson Memorial Dad’s Club Tournament. Santa Cruz High is proud to host this historic annual event now in its 63rd year. The tournament will be held at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium on December 6th – 8th. Student admission is just $5 per day. Santa Cruz plays tonight at 8 pm.

  • Winter Formal tickets are on sale in the quad for $50. We’re in the giving spirit and have slashed the price for this week.  Get yours now before the price increases next week.

  • Reminder to students enrolled in Ms. Tsao, Mr. Anapolsky, or Ms. Palumbo’s support class: class begins today. Ms. Tsao and Ms. Palumbo’s classes start at 1:45, Mr. Anapolsky’s clas starts at 3:30.
