  • Latino Role Models Conference is March 9th at Cabrillo College from 9 am – 1:30 pm.  If interested, see flyer in counseling office for more information.
  • The Santa Cruz Teen Center is looking for teens to participate in a summer internship program to work I the city. Applications in counseling. 
  • Are you looking to gain some good karma in your life? TheShe.Is.Beautiful race occurring on Saturday, March 23rd need your help! Volunteers will get custom hats, morning treats, and a day of fun for helping out.  See Ms. RK in room 64 if you have questions.
  • Blood Drive is today!  You will receive a pass a few minutes before your appointment.
  • AMC Math Contest in room 11 tomorrow at 3:30 – 5 pm. Come join the fun with math club.

  • The PSAT 8/9 and the PSAT 10 provide an early, additional opportunity for students to practice for the PSAT/NMSQT and the SAT.  We have ordered a limited number of PSAT 8/9 (for freshmen) and PSAT 10 (for sophomores) for those who so choose.  The charge for each test is $20, with no fee waivers possible.   Students may sign up in the Finance Office during lunch time only, only 16 spots are left for 9th grade and 5 spots left for 10th grade students.
  • The PSAT 10 is scheduled for April 11, 2019 and the PSAT 8/9 is scheduled for April 12, 2019.  Students will miss the entire mornings’ classes.  It is the responsibility of the students to pre-arrange with their teachers to make up any missed work.

  • All boys interested in playing golf must complete their Family ID and turn in their sports physical to Kathy in the main office before they can practice.

There will be dinner, dancing, a DJ, and a ride up to our departure dock. Tickets cost $165 for the month of January. There are six days remaining to sign up for the payment plan to help alleviate costs. Stop by ASB at lunch with questions or to purchase a ticket.
  • Need a job?  The Boardwalk is hiring. If you show up to their HR Office any time between 10 am and 4pm, Monday – Saturday, they will interview you instantly/immediately on-the-spot. Human Resources is located across the street from the Carousel ride.
  • Mamma Mia! Auditions are next week! See flyers, Facebook, or Instagram for details. We will also have an informational meeting Thursday, January 24th at lunch in the auditorium.

  • The Santa Cruz High wrestling team hosted the first annual Ladies Coast Classic last Saturday, January 19th. 31 teams and 170 wrestlers competed. The boys wrestling team was the backbone of the tournament. Congratulations to our ladies who wrestled Emma Thorpe, Namaya Cervelli, Lazuli Dutton, Alex Bradford, Sonia Anderson and Maya Letona who placed 3rd and Greta Gustafson 1st place.

There will be dinner, dancing, a DJ, and a ride up to our departure dock. Tickets cost $165 for the month of January. There are six days remaining to sign up for the payment plan to help alleviate costs. Stop by ASB at lunch with questions or to purchase a ticket.
  • Mark your calendars!  The Blood Drive is February 12th. You can sign up now at lunch in the ASB room (next to room 64.)
  • Need a job?  The Boardwalk is hiring. If you show up to their HR Office any time between 10 am and 4pm, Monday – Saturday, they will interview you instantly/immediately on-the-spot. Human Resources is located across the street from the Carousel ride.
  • Mamma Mia! Auditions are next week! See flyers, Facebook, or Instagram for details. We will also have an informational meeting Thursday, January 24th at lunch in the auditorium.
  • Want to help Save Our Shores on Saturday! Come on down to Cowell and Main Beach on January 26th between 9 am and 12 pm.
  • Students, the deadline to guarantee your yearbook purchase in on February 8th. This is also the last chance to personalize your yearbook cover and it’s the final deadline for parents to purchase Ad space in the back of the yearbook. Make sure you secure your copy of the 2019 SCHS yearbook through the Jostens website.”
  • Santa Cruz PD will begin citing and or towing vehicles parked in the fire land areas near the gym. Make sure you are not parked in the red.
  • Clubs and Link Crew, be sure to see Ms. R-K in room 64 to confirm details about Red and White Fair which is next Wednesday, January 30th

Clubs: The following clubs meet today during lunch.

  • Rainbow Alliance will be hosting a viewing of Love, Simon in the auditorium this Friday, January 25th at lunch in the auditorium. Everyone is welcome to join us.
  • Cardinal Car meets today in room 42.
  • Global Student Embassy in room 22.
  • Cooking in room 18. 

Seniors:

  • Seniors the deadline to submit your senior quote and vote for the best of SCHS Seniors is today.  Check your school email for the links to both.
  • A rep from Jostens will be back on campus during lunch on Friday, February 1st to take cap and gown orders! The scholarship deadline calendar has been updated on the Santa Cruz High School website. The Santa Cruz Community Foundation Scholarship is due February 4th! Everyone should apply for this scholarship as soon as possible! See Lauren in the Main Office for any senior questions! Also! All seniors who are on Remind and have Verizon- you need to download the Remind app or turn on your email notifications in order to avoid new fees Verizon is implementing. 

Sports:

  • Anyone planning on playing baseball should meet at the field today at 2 pm or after your last class.  We will be prepping the field for practices to start next week.
